A series of collages depicting windows and suburban scenes that speak to an impersonal American landscape. Without intimate details, all that remains are the architectural elements and the defining moments of light and darkness. The warm light and long shadows add a temporal element, signifying the setting of one stage and the rising of another. The materials give a sense of anonymity; the magazine pages depict an array of places and moments in time – memories that are not my own. The result is a quiet, contemplative look outside into the surrounding framework that feels simultaneously familiar and distant.
