A high school ceramics project where students were tasked with creating a series of ceramic tiles inspired by animals and the work of Charley Harper. Harper was a Cincinnati-based artist known for his lively, geometric depictions of animals. Students emulated this style by creating colorful animal tiles, experimenting with different surface techniques and glazes. They utilized the slab roller, various carving tools, and hand-building to construct the forms. The result was a series that felt united and cohesive while each tile remained unique.
