A series of watercolor paintings that combine everyday skyscapes with unusual phrases in order to explore the dichotomy between control and release.  The medium was carefully applied, showing command over the typically free flowing paint.  The words, however, were not manipulated, having been selected randomly from a local newspaper article.  These nonsensical expressions stray from logic and order in a way that contrasts the carefully controlled paint.  The subject of the sky also exists in a realm beyond manipulation.  It can never be truly captured, allowing only feeble attempts to replicate its beauty.
